We are entering the 21st century with the XXVth volume of the Annals It might have been reason for a spirit of celebration, but we decided to defer all festivities to later in the year 2001- the real beginning of the 21st century as well as the year of the 50th Anniversary of the Institute of Air and Space Law of McGill University, Montreal, Canada. That anniversary will be marked by an international conference on air and space law in Montreal, where we hope to bring together many generations of alumnae and alumni of the Institute, together with readers of the Annals from all corners of the world. A subsequent volume of the Annals shall be devoted to the proceedings of the conference
